A group of 8 of us are on our way to Borovets for 2 weeks (27 Dec - 11 Jan). Can you please adivse of how much spending money we would need (in sterling).
We have booked skiing for the first week and would like a go at snowboarding for the second week (do you recommend we buy our own boots?, if so where is a good shop to purchase them from in Borovets). None of us have ever done anything like this before.

How much money to take? thats a tough question.
It all depends on what you plan to do at night.
£1 = 2.85 lev approx
large beer = 3 lev
local vodka = 1 lev
fags(victory) = 1 lev - dont bother buying duty free at 40p packet the local ciggs are ok.
3 course meal in a restaurant from £5 each
I suggest that you take a walk around borovets and find out when happy hour is in each bar and plan your evening around this as you get 2 drink for the price of one,

I was out there in February with a group 8 lads. We could not spend £20.00 a day, no matter how hard we tried.I guess that if any of our group had spent that much in 1 day then one of us would have been flying home in a coffin.

Shep, you didnt mention the Vodka Redbull!
50 lev (£20) gets you 3 carafes, they put a bottle of Vodka in each cos its cheaper then the red bull. We had a whip of 50 lev each and despite drinking a bottle and half of Vodka each we still had enough to get chicken on the way home and a fry up at the hungry horse in the morning.
Greek got gout, Tony ended up up the mountain with some sweedish whale (hmm she was nice) I got sent down the lift to reception, Naked, unconscious and covered in ...

Be carfull of the local chap who runs the little resturant opposite the black tiger.
Hes mad as a hatter and once your in there you will never escape (unless you chat up his daughter, then he soon gets you out the door, I think he wants her all to himself)
Fantastic place, I love it. And Ill be there week end of Jan 29th..
