I know this is a ski site, but has anyone had a summer holiday?

I'm going to Borovets in the last week of August, staying at the Hotel Samokov.

Yes, yes, I know that this site is for winter holidays, but has anyone got any experience of Borovets in the summer?

I've not actually been there myself during the summer, (all our spare cash goes towards our twice yearly ski trips to Borovets) but our friends (bulgarians) have told us that it is really beautiful in the summer. Especially the 7 lakes at the top of the mountain (unseen in winter because of the snow). Hope this helps

Yep been in Borovets in summer... and agree with G.M its very nice..

Big cabin lift will be working.. can take you to the top and from there you can walk a long way... I walked down which was very very cool )

Borovets and Pamporovo are really nice places to stay in the summer.
All hotels, bars, restaurants and other activites are working in the summer.
It does not get hot like the rest of the country, it is just cool and pleasant. Very calm and relaxing.
Plus, the hotels decrease prices a lot.

A guy I work with go`s to Bulgaria every Summer with about 40 others ! Theyve been going for about 5 years now . They go to the resorts on the Black sea ( I think it`s the Black sea- geography is`nt my strong point !!) They love it and it was he who reccommended I go for a skiing holiday to Bulgaria . He has a family and they always seem to have plenty to do etc. I can get more info from him if you loke and can post it here to the site.

I went to the black sea resort called sunny beach twice last year and i really enjoyed it because sunny beac is bigger there is a lot more bars and a couple of night clubs but they still have the happy hours but there is more compition between the bars so the drinks are cheaper if you want any more info let me know and i will post it on this site
