I have just received notification from Inghams that they are withdrawing from the Bulgarian resorts for next season due to lack of booking from their preview brochure-they offered an Austrian resort. I presume any of you guys who have booked with Inghams will receive the same communication. A bit sad as it limits the choices!
Thats more bad news for Bulgaria, have travelled with inghams to BG for past 6 years, didnt come this year as went to Italy self drive.
If a major operator like Inghams is pulling out of BG less competition may mean increased prices from the other tour ops, I am suprised as in the past have always been on a full plane from Gatwick, this was always inghams own charter with Monarch.

Perhaps this is not neccesarily to do with visitor numbers but has more to do with the increased costs of charter aircraft and fuel, I would imagine the transport element of the total package is quite high due to the flight distance.
There is of course another explanation, Inghams have always offered good discounts in their preview brochure, I too have my copy, although there are still the discounts it may be the case that many people are not comfortable booking so far in advance during the current economic climate for fear of having to cancel nearer the time.
I am sure the other operators will continue to feature BG, there are still large numbers of Brits who enjoy BG and will continue to visit (I count myself amongst them), Inghams are perhaps reacting a little early, but having seen what can happen to other tour operators in the past year are protecting their business for the future.
Really?!!!
I used to use Inghams but did my own thing this year and saved quite a lot. What amused me was that they sent their earlybird 12/13 brochure to me in December 2011, a full 3 months before this years ski holiday. Even if I was going to book with Inghams I was hardly going to book before the season had begun the year before.
