So anyone a Happy New Year or, in german "Guten Rutsch"See you all at the 25. in Bobbys Bar, I will bring some of the fine Melnik Rakia with me and lets have a good time.

I thought i would ask you experts on borovets as were all going on the 25th Jan, what is the best method of cash to take? Lev? Sterling? Or withdraw Lev from cash machines there?

Hi EmilieAll the posts I have read suggest £20 notes changed in Borovets or just use the cash machines.
Are you on the 14:05 flighty with Thomson from Manchester?

H Ems, yep as Matt states nice crisp clean monkeys/20 pound notes. Change them at the various Crown Booths around the resort. You may get charged with a cash machine.

Based upon my experience last year the most cost effective way to get your Lev is to get them through Ramsdens.http://www.ramsdensforcash.co.uk/travel-money/
Unfortunately they are only based up in the North.

Hi Emilie,I always take cash ( Sterling ) and change it at the exchange booths, the ones with a crown symbol on top of them are reliable. plenty dotted about on the main streets.
There is a bank where you can exchange cash, just uphill from the Samakov. and there is also a couple of ATM machines ( one inside the foyer of the Rila.
The Exchange rate is about 220 -225 lev to the pound.

I'm Spartacus!!!!! I can now confirm my crew consisting of Me, Rachael, Bradley, Lil Simon, Ricki & last but no means least Lucas... We will be departing from Manchester on Saturday 25th January. Our intentions will be to attack Bobbys Bar on the night of our arrival. We look forward to meeting old and new troops and of course the defenders. Greenfrogfrolicks = SOC NAAFI (what else with all that Marmite )
