I have booked a holiday to the Rila Hotel 6th March - 13th March and cant wait!
We are not sure about the 'ski package' as it involves 4 hours a day on the slopes for 6 days. As there are 7 Adults all going on this holiday so we have to cater for everybody (even my 50 year old mother who has kindly declined the snowboarding option) haha.
But I have heard that Ice fishing is available, but I dont know what else to visit while in Borovets... any main attracts to see other then skiing? ...

have a night out in samokov ice stating followed by a meal. i always visit the private dining resturant madrova kushta... for £15 per head would cost £115 in london, quality at real value.
Ice fishing is done on Iskur reservoir which is somewhat lower than Borovets so I'm not sure whether there will still be sufficient ice by mid march....
Cheers guys, eyepaul sounds like a great night out. I really want to have a go on the ski doos. My girlfriend want a go because she 'only ever sees them on films'. bless her.
As for the fishing mat, not to worrie, I just thought it would be a nice change from the usual.
Im thinking of doing 2-3 days skiing, maybe a day in Sofia, a night out in samokov and I wouldnt mind the tobogganing and ski dooing.
I hear there is some snow due next week in Borovets (wed and thurs).
Your 50 year old mother will probably have loads more staying power than you mate!!! Can't see the point in going all the way to Bulgaria to ski then worrying about only getting 4 hours a day on the slopes! That's NOT ENOUGH!!! You need to be going up the mountain at 8.30 and back down at 5pm - get your money's worth!!!!
Great Advise, I spoke to my 50 year old mother and I got a feeling that she will try a bit of skiing, taboganning and she want to do a bit of skidooing. There are 5 20-25 year olds that cant wait to hit the slopes. Hopefully there will be some snow left by March 6th.... that the only worrie that I have. anybody know what March is like??? End of the season and all that, so fingers crossed.
Been 5 times to Bansko in March - always skiable but variable conditions. You need to get up the mountain early if temps are a bit higher, as the snow gets slushy and hard on the legs later in the afternoon, particularly where runs converge. I learned to ski in Bansko for my silver wedding anniversary holiday! So I'm sure your mum is capable of a bit more than a BIT of skiing - come on you silver skiers!!!!!!
