Ice skating Bansko?

Is there any ice skating in Bansko?And this site, and everywhere else, says that there is a snowboard half pipe, I am guessing that this will probably not be built the week we are there - chrismas/new year. Anyone know?
Its under 10 sleeps now, SO excited!!

yes there is a snow board half pipe but not knowing much about how these are built I would think you need more snow!never saw an ice skating rink unless you class the pathway at the bottom of the slopes as one

Yip there was ice-skating last year...about halfway down the main street leading down from the gondola (on the left) was a small outdoor rink! It's almost in the middle of the alfresco seating area of next door's pub!!They had a decent selection of hire boots and I think the total cost for an hour was about £4! My wife had a whale of a time pirouetting and triple salkoing all over the place....ummm..come to think of it maybe those boots were a bit big!!

There is a very small rink down on the way down to the old town along one of the side roads. It has a small cafe bar outside where you can get drinks etc. It was there last year anyway!re: Ice skating Bansko?

They are building an ice rink behind Hotel Strazhite.

Oh we were there endo Feb I think when they shut the lifts for acouple of days due to high winds, hence the reason why we found the ice rink! What about you guys and are you going back this year? Really sad because we are not going to Bansko but equally really happy that we have a week in Borovets beginning of March. we went solo last year (it was lovely!) but taking the plunge with our two teeny weeny girls who are only 3 and 5! Childcare etc. and ski school seems to be better catered ...
