And you are planning to stay in Pamporovo then give the Markony a try - the food there is absolutely fabulous. We stayed there for the second year running last year and have re-booked again for next, and that's after 20 years of visiting Pamporovo. If there was a downside it's a good 2 miles from the resort centre but taxis are always available if you need one.
Your choice of course - but I have never stayed in better accomodation in over 30 visits to Bulgaria.

Having stayed at the Markony , the food and sevice is Great. You have your own Chef . A wonderful place to stay. And you can stay in bed longer. And you meet some very nice people. Hi pete how is every body.Mike .

...and with taxi prices now being regulated, those who previously had concerns using local taxi's need not worry any more! The Markony is fab - not had a bad meal there yet!re: If You Like Your Food
Never stayed there but can totally agree that the food is great. Love sitting by the log fire after a hard days skiing.xx

I think the Taxi's local in general are vastly over priced.ie Pirin Golf to Bansko rtn can be 40lev.... um Bansko to Sofia airport is only £100 rtn doesnt make any sense.

The municipal councils in Smoylan, Chepalare and Pamporovo have set taxi fares for next season to a maximum of 3 levs per km, which I think is very reasonable. This means 4 people can travel from the Malina back to the resort in Pamporovo for approximately 9 levs - or £1 each.That is good value.
