Iglika Palace 8th Jan

Hi All,

Just wondering if I can get some info on the Iglika Palace, Im there on the 8th -16th of Jan. Ive been to Pamporovo 3 times but fancied a change to Borovets and left it last minute so just booked the highest star hotel left at the time.

Whats the location / food / service / facilities / rooms like? (Ive booked a superior room just to be safe)

My friends are all in the Olymp, is it a long distance between them? (Ive noticed a few comments saying its out of the main ...

The Iglika is a fantastic hotel right opposite the Rila - it's a small hotel with no nightclub, but does have a swimming pool etc.

The food is ok - needs warming up, but not too bad. I stayed there in 2003, the Samokov in 2005 and am going back to the Iglika on 21st Jan - it's a much nicer hotel. Small, and more personal than the Samokov.

We've got a superior room this year - the one thing I do remember from the room last time is that the bathroom had a glass door and there wasn't a bath, just a shower, but the superior rooms do have a bath.

The Olymp leaves rather a lot to be desired from what I can gather and it's quite a way up the hill - The Iglika is a perfect choice.

just got back from xmas atthe iglika - fantastic! great food/service/hotel. Enjoy. OK the shower may not have shower doors or the curtain may not stretch right across the whole window (!?) but what does it really matter?? the skiiing was great and the staff were really friendly (say hello to Geri in the bar - my husband cant stop talking about her). The food is deliberately not boiling hot as per the bulgarian thinking that piping hot food is bad for the digestion - go with it - you ARE ...

The food is deliberately not boiling hot as per the bulgarian thinking that piping hot food is bad for the digestion - go with it - you ARE in THEIR country. There is a microwave in the restaurant if it really is too bad but we didnt have a problem. The Rila looked vast and impersonal - Iglika was small and friendly. Would definitely go back. Very Happy

thanks for the comments guys, id sooner be in a hotel without a club anyway - the walk back is always entertaining and no chance of noise. Glad its centre resort, the others will have to come to me!
