Hi all, have been here since Saturday and it has snowed once since but is supposed to again tonight, having said that there is plenty of snow on the slopes anyway, and now that the racing has finished the queus are much smaller for the gondola and the lifts. The only bad thing I can really say about the slopes is that they don't appear to be groomed very well, and for me anyway when there is a lot of snow ungroomed it makes it harder to ski. The only bad thing I can really say about the slopes is that they don't appear to be groomed very well, and for me anyway when there is a lot of snow ungroomed it makes it harder to ski. I think bansko is geared more towards intermediates, and on the piste map there is only one black that is open, so the advanced skiers may find it a bit boring after a few days. Be carefull with the piste map if you are still learning, as there is a blue run second down from the top on map but when you get up there you cannot get to it as I had a horrendous time on a very steep red (slid down on my bum half of it) as it was the ONLY way back down as you could not access the blue from where the may says you can.
If you stay in a hotel, give the restaurants in the town a try. Seven of us had 5 bottles of wine, all had starters and huge amount of food for each meal, and the bill cam to approx 100 pounds for it all.
I will be here for about 10 minutes if anyone has any questions.
No snow in the town but plenty on the slopes. There was a news bulleting this moring that all of eastern europe will be getting blizzards tonight so hopefully will bring more snow to Bansko. Local beer in Hotel perun is much cheaper than at home, and the shots are double the uk units. If you can, try the town pubs restaurants as the local beer is less than a pound, and the vodka for a single (but UK double) is also a pound.

Hi Bendywendy,
No snow in the town but plenty on the slopes. There was a news bulleting this moring that all of eastern europe will be getting blizzards tonight so hopefully will bring more snow to Bansko. Local beer in Hotel perun is much cheaper than at home, and the shots are double the uk units. Most people here are very friendly so everyone should or can have a good time if they want to.
It's been warmer the past couple of dasy but hopefully the temps will drop tonight and bring with it more snow so all you people coming out this weekend should be ok.
I think that all the lifts were open today, some have been closed over the past couple of days because of the ladies slalom but that has now finished. As of present time I think all the lifts are open, and not too long a wait to get on them.
