Thought id take the opportunity now whilst nursing a strained back to give a quick update as promissed!
The weather has been quite warm and yesterday was wall to wall sunshine (which has not done the slopes any good!)
Rils slopes are a little slushy lower down as the day goes on- however are not in too bad shape- a couple of broken pistes make a couple of runs closed- though i have seen people skiing down these-walking then continuing to ski.

The black run off the end of the rila is very bare in places and closed.
Up the top of the Gondola- conditions much better- some nice skiing up there still.
There are a couple of bare patches on the reds alongside the new four man chair- but skiable, however the black is broken, and the run down to middle gondola is fine. Have not gone beyond middle station as been told it is closed- though again have seen people heading down that way (? locals who know the terrain better than most!)
Overall the snow should hold for next week, though it is again warm today with broken sun.
The locals are saying snow is on the way in the next day or so - keeping fingers crossed as it is needed.
After a gentle first day- i through caution to the wind yesterday and probably did too much- allready having a bad back an all- been up since 3.15 am today with pain
Never mind a days rest and back out there!
