Info

Hi
I am mid fifties but fit. Slightly mad going skiing for first time. Flying from Gatwick 14.00 17th Jan.
But what the hell! I have to try everything before its too late.
I am on my own so any people my age group out there can give advice on first time skiing etc.

Also I am short a few bits of equipment so do I get before I go?
Or buy in Borovets?

re: Info

Mike you will have a great time. I took my Father for the first time when he was 65 and he managed it. As for gear just browse for these pages for that info. I would advise you getting most of it here unless you want to run around on the first morning of your holiday. Very Happy

re: Info

My mate Dave (aka Mr Speedy) retired before he started. He just goes at his own pace, takes a break for a brandy when he's ready. Err, same as me really.

re: Info

If you're travelling on your own it is a great way of meeting other people and feeling part of it. Last year we had people in our ski group on their own (admittedly their partners, friends etc were in resort or other lessons) but they all had a whale of a time.

Enjoy yourself and let your hair down.

re: Info

You'll have a great time. I can only speak for Pamps but the clothes and equipment in the shops is good value for money. Painkillers etc. (not that you will need them) can be expensive so stock up before you go. Ski school normally starts first thing on the Sunday morning so its best to have your gloves and things for then.....Any more questions you can think of Question Question PP knows a lot Wink

have fun....Sarah Very Happy
