Also, check on ownership...we were told you never actually 'own' a Bulgarian property outright, you buy something like a long-term lease. Also, if you sell you may have pay a portion of the proceeds to the men in black suits!!!!

As explained by Val i have purchased off plan an apartment which is being built just to the rear of the TANNE hotel. You will have to consider whether it is a wise move as i did but here are a few considerations...
1. Bansko is up and coming with more expansion planned than any other resort in BG, it is ideally placed sitting as it does at the base of three ranges.

2. It is being promoted as the premier resort in BG in its bid to host the 2014 winter olympics (whether that comes off or not, they are still trying)
3. The expansion of the lift system and piste is being funded by large europeon banks (for the huge returns)
4. The goverment for their part are funding the installation of a motorway connecting Sofia to the Greek border passing right by the resort bringing the transfer time down to one and half hours.
5. There is a provincial airport planned for the area, an 18 hole golf course and a new holiday village being built 7 kms away for the summer.
6. Bansko is an established town with an approximate population of 10,000 well steeped in history with old bars and restaurants, places of historic interest attracting summer and winter visitors.
7. It is the highest resort (skiing wise) in BG and so can expect the best snow.
