Hi all, thinking of taking the kids age 9 an 11 for first time ski holiday to Pamporova and was wondering if it is a suitable resort for kids or would it be like taking them to Kavos, also are helmets included in the beginner packs and advice would be appreciated.
Hi Mel
We have been skiing in Bulgaria for the past 20 years, all 3 are good for kids. Pamporovo is the quieter of the 3 and the runs aren't as crowded as Bansko and Boro. Definately none are like Kavos lol. I avoid places like that whether its a summer or winter holiday.
I'm not sure about helmets as we have our own equipment but I'm sure someone will tell you on here.
We are off to Pamps next Saturday, only booked on Friday and we only paid £640 for the 2 of us, half board and lift ...

Thanks, Karen, I was looking at the 26th 1340 for the four of us including passes and beginner packs for kids, the transfer is putting me off a bit as the flight is into Sofia
You can hire helmets in the resort 36BGN for the week (about £1
I have skied in many places in Europe with my kids and have found Pamporovo the most child friendly and easiest place to ski with my kids.
The transfer is not so bad particularly if it is a private transfer and you can break the journey up with a supermarket stop. Just make sure you have lots to eat with you and the kids will be just fine - done it loads with mine.
I agree with the above; Pamps is perfect for children. (and us oldies) .
The scenery from Sofia to the foot of the mountain is quite flat and featureless in places, so a few stops and a couple of games would be a good idea.
However the fun starts when you start climbing the mountain. beautiful scenery
Enjoy!
