Is it normal...

To have sligh scratches/scuffs of a pair of brand new skis after having the bindings fit?

Just picked mine up today. The base has a few mild-moderate scratches but they are new. They had to be drilled to fit the bindings as they are the Scott Maya so have no rails.

thanks in advance guys

This sounds like poor workmanship to me. However after one or two runs, they probably end up with more scratches anyway. I know it's annoying. It's like getting a new car with paintwork damage.

when I first got my skis there were no marks on the base, where did you get them from? might be worth asking there and seeing what they say. As Pat say though you will get marks as soon as use them but at least they are marks you have made yourself.

Should be no marks on the base if they are new!- even if waxed should be smooth like!

Thanks guys,

Figured as much... got them from the place that screwed my boots up cos had a £200 voucher (from the boot scenario) so including poles and scott s10 bindings i paid £165 cos i managed to wrangle 10% discount too... though they couldn't go wrong with a standard set up on skis... I know I'll get my own scratches and scuffs but as mentioned at least I'll have created them.

Oh well, still can't wait to ski in em.

To all those out now and at the weekend have a good un
