Is there any snow late December?

Hi, I've just booked to go to Borovets in December. I then looked at a website that says there is hardly any snow in December. I saw another website saying there was always snow. Most of the moans on here seem to be about shabby accomodation and not about the lack of snow. So, can anyone tell me, is there likely to be snow at Christmas time?
Thanks

re: Is there any snow late December?

well with eastern europe you get the best out of your boarding skiing around the late end of the season, when most of the snow falls, this year especially as it was one of there best falls for many years, Trouble with bulgaria they dont start getting snow til around mid dec so if there is some it wont be deep powder...

Yeah expect basic accomodation, its not the best, but its some where to put your head after a long day boarding and drinking.... take advantage of the cheap beer, you can ...

Hope you have a good holiday, dont hold back if you have any more queries as i am happy to answer them as honestly and truthfully as posible..

This Season the snow never fell until 23rd December, and when it did, over a meter dropped in about 36 hours!

You pays your your money, you takes your chance!

re: Is there any snow late December?

Thanks Rich,
Most of our party are beginners/intermediates anyway - so not too worried about powder - just as long as the slopes aren't horribly icy - I'm askier but am going to learn to board and don't want to shatter my knees! What we are worried about is the snow levels on the lower slopes at that time of year which is where, presumably, the beginners go to learn.

Know anything about the Iglika Villas?

No, well dont,.. take the triple chair lift up to the top to the beginner slopes... and as soon as you have masterd the toe edge and heel edge try the green run,... its easy, it will bring you on as a boarder much quicker and trust me,..it wil be alot more fun (despite alot of falling over like everyone who learns does) just as long as you are determined and every time you fall you get straight back up and remember what you did wrong and try not to do it again,..

Sore knees, well iv been ...

re: Is there any snow late December?

Haha yes I have had a go at boarding before and I know it hurts a lot more than skiing when you fall - still, looking forward to it.

So you reckon there will be snow at that point in December then?
