Not set in stone on dates but I'm going over 25th -25th. Thinking of staying in Sofia (much cheaper) in the week (unless anyone knows of cheap apartments/rooms to rent) so I can work, then go to the slopes on the weekends.
I'm 24, used extreme sports but usually involves a bike, so it's a first for me; lot's of lessons me thinks. I'll probably spend more time on my arse on the slopes and in the bars, but hey
Anyone else out there for a few weeks or longer?

Hi All,

Any tips for a newbie? Want to get some decent gear to keep me warm
Where do you work-Sofia? If yes, are you wanting to ski in Borovets? You can get some cheap 'staff' rooms in Borovets for a cheap price, there are also places to stay in Samokov that are even cheaper and it is much cheaper to eat and drink than living in Sofia!
If you want / need any info, then send us an email and we can let you know what's available and the sort of prices. If you're heading to the Bansko area then Steve C / Nightmuffy will be able to help!
I work online, but I'm not banking on a mega internet connection & with it being a "sort've" holiday, I've assumed I'll be doing half the work I usually do. Hence why I'd rather stay somewhere cheap. The cheaper it is, the less time I can work and the more time I can play
I'd definately like to know about the rooms you are talking about, that would be great!

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.

It depends whether how cheap though? The rentals in Sofia are similar in price to Borovets on holiday websites. On short-term 1 month ish contracts though, there are plenty of apartments for £150-200 a month, and I can't find anything in that range anywhere near Boro.
I don't have my heart set on an area, after all, I've never been there. Just want somewhere where there is some action within an hour +
