Just got back from our first holiday in Pamporovo-here is my report.
First of all our carrier was First Choice, we had our flights changed three times and our departure airport changed from Sofia to Plovdiv , the later of which was for the better ! The experience at Gatwick on 5th March was horrendous, so bad was the chaos at check in we will never fly from there again! The flight out was eventually okay as long as you don't take into account the dreadful in flight snack.

Arrived at Hotel Pamporovo at 2345 local time, and the hotel had actually kept the restaurant open which surprised us. The food was quite good til last wednesday when the food became quite dreadful. The staff in the restaurant seemed quite obnoxious, as were the receptionists and spa staff. Having said that the Irish Bar was very inviting and the chamber maids quite friendly. The hotel is still overbooking quite badly and several people didnt get the rooms they wanted!!
I stayed in golden sands in the summer and the hotel there was less stars (Lotos****) and far more friendly, Hotel Pamporovo should take some tips from other hotels in the area like Mourgavets, and Finlandia which have less stars but far more helpful and friendly staff.
The ski school was fantastic, we started in a beginners but were moved up to intermediates both Vasgo(beginners) and especially Ivan M (intermediates) were great. My husband myself and my daughter all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and met our full potential.
Overall we had a fab holiday, we didn't see any Mafia, or prostitutes. Thanx 2 all in our ski school group you helped make a good holiday great!The resort was beautiful beyond our expectations, and we will definately be returning next year, although not to Hotel Pamporovo or with First Choice !
One last point from experience anyone going for the first time should definately get some beginner lessons in to get the most from the holiday, and if you are slighty fitness shy like myself, definately do some leg excercises-the pain of not being able to walk up or downstairs for 2 days was worse than giving birth, so do some prep!!!!!!!

We came back 06/03,had lots of delays with First Choice and wouldnt be to keen to go with them again either,hotel Peralick was good,and food majic and plenty of it(a bit on the cold side the later you left it)ideal location for BJs,The reports say they are ploughing more money into the resort this year so can only get even better !!!

Nice report Justine glad you and the family enjoyed yourself. Next year book with Inghams and stay at the Mourgavets never had a problem with overbooking there.
