Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Just back from a weeks snowboarding in Bansko and have mixed feelings really.
The kempinski was great - the spa is great for relaxing with bruised knees and the staff are fantastic!
Unfortunately, the snow wasn't great - that's just a risk you take though. I've got so many bruises from falling on ice! The queues for the gondola were ok, except for the first day when everyone was picking up their gear.
I was really disapointed with the "experts" Balkan Holidays employ to fit boots/boards. The two idiots I spoke to tried to palm me off with a size 5 boot, when I told them several times I needed a 3! When I asked someone else to adjust my bindings I was looked at with a mix of confusion/disgust. Do these people know why they're getting paid?!
I'd avoid the Happy End bar if you go to Bansko, unless you like overpriced drinks, disgusting food and lazy/rude waitresses.
Still, we didn't let these little things spoil our holiday - it was a week away from work and my snowboarding is definitely better! Doing my first little jump will be remembered forever!
I hope anyone going soon gets some decent snow (and doesn't get served raw chicken!).
