Been to Bansko last week and skied it for the first time and all I can say is WOW, what a holiday. The weather was perfect and we never saw a cloud, although it was a bit nippy at minus 20 when we arrived but this just meant that the snow was perfect for the rest of the week and always squeaked underfoot. Never queued for one lift, skied on immaculately groomed, uncrowded slopes all week - drank excellent wine and ate good healthy and traditional food at low, low prices. What more could ...

We and our friends stayed in Todora Towers Gondola Apts. 4 & 5, which were perfect as they were only 50m from the gondola and directly opposite the Kempinski - we almost skied back to our door. Infact we were so impressed by the place we've decided to buy a place ourselves, just around the corner.
We've skied all over the world and this resort, whilst not boasting the huge kilometers of piste like some of the big European resorts, has everything. It's all new and state of the art - the Lifts, the Snow Making, the Piste Bashers etc. are brand new out the box. It has well designed and maintained pistes coupled together with a lovely quaint village with traditional Mehanas, all of which have roaring log fires that remind you of Bonfire Night as you walk around the cobbled streets and the smell floats in the air.
Can't wait to go back and meet more of the lovely locals and experience more of the same.
If you've not been - try it - no more rip off 3 valleys, Klosters, St. Anton for me, I know when I've hit gold.
Just read your comments on Bansko.
We are going 25 Feb for 1 Week Booked are selves and I was slightly aprehensive.
Reading your comments sound very reassuring.
Yes you're right about the numerous apartments but then again there are plans to construct a new gondola and not every owner will be letting out their apartments. I know I wouldn't want to be staying in the ones down the bottom of town and catching a bus to the slopes and back every day - it's best to be at tyhe side of the gondola like we were - 0830 on the slopes. I've certainly got more faith in Bansko doing what they say they will do than the other resorts like Boro and Pamps but we'll ...
