Just back from Bansko

Some words form a Bansko first timer just back from a week in Bansko - ski ing conditions last week were good, although could have done with a tiny bit more snow.

Gondola! Great fun! first day we queued for hour and a half and the last day it broke down for 2 hours! luckily we were at the front of the queue so we legged in down and got taxis up to the top.

I had snowboard instruction which wasnt the best - spoke to other boarders who were equally dissatisfied. ski instructors seemed ...

Prices are nice and cheap... we found a small cafe thing that looked like a small sweet hut - had 3 hot chocolates and a coffee and it came to 3.60 levs!!! Bargain!

The town is a bit like beirut with all the building work but theres plenty of charm in the old town to keep yuou occuppied. Great places to eat and drink... if you like your football - head to the Lion Bar, great atmosphere!

Any questions just ask!

I'm in the same situation as u liz, were stayin in the lion hotel and i have booked intermediate sking lessons with
crystal but i'm a beginner, only been once before and was the worse skier in the group but crystal said the
beginners class was for total beginners. Going with my boyfriend who's alot better skier than me and worrid about being on my own in my ski group but am sure it'll be fine.

Do you know how long the transfer time is from plodiv airport???

re: Just back from Bansko

Hi Danielle, we're flying to Sofia but i think from Plovdiv it's about 3hrs...
i've been twice before but didn't improve much, however i went to xscape for a lesson a couple of weeks ago and feel much more confident, but a couple of lessons in Bansko wouldn't go amiss..
