Hey Guys,
Returned last night from Borovets. After reading various reports i was really worried about lack of snow etc. and it being a bad resort so thought i had better give an honest view of borovets - in my opinion.
Firstly to reassure those that are comming out soon - there is loads of snow on the upper and lower slopes - plenty to make sure you can ski/board everyday. Some places a bit icy and some runs are closed, However this didnt impact on our holiday - but we were beginners.

Hey Guys,
Returned last night from Borovets.
At the start of the week there was lots of snow around the resort made it feel very wintery. This was starting to melt slightly as we were leaving however. Also the snow in Sofia and the town Samakov has practically disappered but dont worry still plenty in Boro at the mo. I was surprised by the warm temps in the resort - felt practically the same as back home. However still need to wrap up warm as conditions can suddenly change.
Do not expect a luxury resort, Bulgaria remains a very poor country. However i liked the charm of the resort and enjoyed experiencing a different culture. The prices in the resort are about the same as back home (bout £2.50 for a hot chocolate, £7 for a pizza). These prices do not reflect the true bulgaria. Venture into samakov and the prices drop dramatically - we had a good pizza for £1.50. As tourists we are being ripped off big time lol.
Any way I enjoyed my trip to Borovets, and as a beginner skiier had a great time. Good english speaking instructor, and met many nice bulgarian and british people. The holiday is what you make of it.
I'm afraid the minute you go to a tourist resort you will pay tourist prices - that is the same all over the world! So, I think the term "ripped off" is a little harsh. Glad Claire enjoyed her holiday though and well done on the feedback!
