Hi
Just a quick report won't be as long as YT, must say a good report - you must have written a daily log while on holiday!!
Got back from Borovets early hours of sunday morning and what a fantastic holiday we had.
All of the information that we read up on this discussion board came in very handy.
We went with Neilsons, we haven't used before, they were good, always available if there were any questions to be asked.
We stayed at the Rila Hotel which was nicely situated for the slopes. The food was as people had already mentioned not exactly hot but was edible. Anyway eating out was cheap and we had some good food - Mamacitas / The Red Lion / The Black Cat and Franco's.
We was on the learn to turn for beginners, being our first time at this type of sport the instructor would have to have a pretty good tolerance level to teach us - we definately got the best - Toshka, he was a really good instructor - and we soon got to know the word "Snow Pow". The people who we were grouped together were brilliant, we was very lucky. It was laughs all of the way from start to finish, up and down the slopes and some good friends were made.
Went up on a snow plough to "Sitnyakovo" and skiied the 6km down on the beginners run, this was really good and views were breath taking.
As ski-doos were recommended we just had to have a go so we booked the hour trip and was not disappointed, although wanted to open them up a bit and go faster!! We used the ski-doo taxis back to the gondola and well you certainly had to hold on.
Presentation night - so proud to get a little certificate, to think that 6 days before you have never put a pair of ski's on and now you can ski, maybe not brilliant, but the basics are there. It was a good night, plenty of booze and laughter.
Can't wait for the next time, and it would be really good to meet up with the group sometime in the near future. Who knows we may end up at Borovets again!!
