1st timer here after stopping in Bansko last year, in my book Boro kicks the s**t out of Bansko, apart from hotel & gondola quality everything is better
Stopped at the Hotel Olymp, my this place has seen better days but, the beds were comfy & the showers were hot & they have by far the best barman i've ever come across in Boris
This bloke couldn't do too much for you, any drink we requested he'd go to the cash & carry & get for us, we had a 30th birthday out there & he even went & ...

Food places i can reccommend highly are the place next to Bar Boni , Golden Horn, Mamacitas & the Irish one on the road over from Hotel Rila
The boarding was great, the green run down from the gondalo is particurlarly good especially with all the jumps & off piste oppurtunities, the snow had started to run out so a few runs weren't so appealing after the 1st day but the dump happening now will sort it out
Think we'll be coming here again next year, unless Slovenia or Serbia attracts us more
hey Tommo thanks for the post - Im going out on the 24th and cant wait.
Just a quick question - If I take the gondola up can I do that green run without doing any drag or button lifts ? I am a boarder and have heard that the button lifts suck for boarders !
Yea you can, you can board all the way down from the gondola without ever touching a drag lift
But if i were you i'd have a practise on the one straight off the gondola & then the one that takes you to the top of the blue run (which is ace)
The far red one was closed & the one inside was pretty awful, fell off twice & have a beauty bruise on my inner thigh, but it has to be done as that red run is brilliant & there's loads of jumps (we made 4 in total)

Best thing you can do is let your arms take the work & just look a few metres ahead so you can concentrate on the bumps etc
hi, thanks for that. can you tell me if there is a lot of flat spots between runs? im a boarder and ive been looking at the trail map and it looks as if i may have to get off and walk in between some of the runs is that so?
Also you said "all the jumps" are they ones you had made or are they there all the time? is there and natural jumps anyway?
thanks!
I reckon with a nicely waxed board you'll be able to do the 6 km mussala pathway with only having to unclip your board the twice, once halfway up after a tight left & once not far from the end
The green run on the other mountain i did once & thought it was s**t mainly due to the amount of flat bits
As for the jumps i can't tell you whether they are natural or not, we just found some in places & then built some where we thought suited places
