If you are heading out to Borovets you are lucky lucky people!
Have just stayed at the Iceburg Hotel for 4 days and there is stacks of snow out there now!
I arrived (my first visit to Boro) on Thursday (Iceburg Hotel is very nice by the way) and had time to do a bit of night skiing but found the conditions a little icy but still manageable. I arrived (my first visit to Boro) on Thursday (Iceburg Hotel is very nice by the way) and had time to do a bit of night skiing but found the conditions a little icy but still manageable. However with the snow that came (2 or 3 foot of it near the bottom) whilst we were there, the conditions just got better and better. The yastrabets runs were awesome - 2 feet of snow it was like going off piste in Val d'isere!
I have been to val d'isere for the last 5 or 6 years and so have been a little spoilt but I was more than happy with Borovets and will more than likely go back. It's a little on the tacky side with all the 'go go' bars and the owners outside their restaurants trying to get you in but there are far more postives to the resort than negatives - In fact I can't really think of any negatives.
So once again, if you're heading out there this week - prepare for a great time and don't worry about the snow - there's more than plenty!
Glad you had a fab time- the snow is unfortunatley in the lap of the Gods aint it! Pleased its arrived at last though!
I allways found the atmosphere in Bulgaria (Borovets at least) unatainable elsewhere for some reason!
