Hi people I've just returned from Pamporovo after a week at the Perelik, if anyone has any questions regarding skiing, hotel etc please feel free to ask.
Thinks thats standard finish Shaz lol - thats what they had in the Snezhanka as well. Just wonderin about the snow James! Its looking better now, but we were spoilt last year with about 2m!
Debbie - just a word about Bulgarian food - lukewarm! not stayed at Perelik but been to various places in Bulgaria - food is not cordon bleu but not not known anyone have real problems with it. Bulgarians do genuinely think that piping hot food is bad for you! Perelik is right in the middle of Pamps, ...

Bulgarians do genuinely think that piping hot food is bad for you! Perelik is right in the middle of Pamps, and home to one of two great bar/clubs in the basement. The other is Daks bar at the Snezhanka. The schnapps is VERY cheap n VERY drinkable. Enjoy!
Conditions on the upper slopes were great all week, a little icy at first though the fresh snow for mostof the week sorted that out, I needed my skis waxed while i was there as I found myself glued to fresh powder. The lower slopes down to resort were poor at first though by the end of the week the ski school masses had them packed. Some of the pistes could have been groomed a bit better, but nothing to really complain about, a bit choppy when on my Big Foots only 65cm long. The lift queues ...

The lower slopes down to resort were poor at first though by the end of the week the ski school masses had them packed. Some of the pistes could have been groomed a bit better, but nothing to really complain about, a bit choppy when on my Big Foots only 65cm long. The lift queues were quite bad at times, in the morning its often good to get the single chairlift up then hop on the 4 man lift at the middle station. Alternatively take the single up and ski down the green run and just before that sodding walkie bit, hop on the bum bar which takes you to the top, BEWARE though, it is very steep for one section and caught a few out! A nice run down from the top on either blue/red orturn right at the top and hit the blacks. Ps be careful when leaving your equipment outside restaurants, my girlfriend had her poles stolen and had topay for them, though we were offered the option of stealing someone elses and we could have the money back, which I thought was quite funny.
Overall the Perelik is a good hotel, right in the middle of town it has all you need for the weeks stay, and you dont really have to venture out much if you dont feel like it. I think all the rooms have now been renovated, and our bathroom was good. The shower always had hot water and was powerful. Some of the finishings were poor, however we were last on our corridoor and the slave labour probably wanted to be done with it, so skirting boards with bar codes stickers on them and merely resting against te wall dont really bother me. The food on the whole was good, whether you arrive in the restaurant when a new batch of food has been brought out will determine to an extent how hot it is and whether you get the best pieces etc. There was always a selection of meats and few vegetables, and on a few days good ol' chips for the kids (if you have them). Theres always alternative restaurants and it doesnt break the bank to do so if you fancy something different, so my advice would be to give it a try!
happy holidaying
There is also an Italian restuarant there which has lots of veggie food as we are veggies. The food at Pamporovo hotel was crap, luckily we were not residents and only ate there once!!
