Went with Balkan rom East Midlands - beware if you are on this flight, we had an approximate 2 to 21/2 hour delay each way. Speaking to people at both plovdiv and E. Mids airports- they say it is late evey week. This is very annoying when they have already put the flight back 4 hours from when the holiday was booked! This meant arrival in resort after 4 am.
Stayed at the Finlandia again, It is slightly out of town but we prefer that. Yet again it didn't disappoint us, the hotel is lovely, the food can be slightly repetative but we find it OK and eat well. Plenty of buses to the ski centres morning and evening. They also opperate a bus into town in the evening this has gone up from 1 lev to 3 levs per person this year (each way), so if there is four or five of you it is as cheap to take a taxi and you are not constrained by the times of the bus.
It snowed heavily sunday and monday which made conditions perfect for us (intermediates), however, the temperature was approx 10 C on Tuesday which resulted in alot of the snow that had arrived melting. By the end of the week there was very little snow on parts of the bottom green run. There were also stones showing through in places.
The staff in resort did a great job all week in ensuring that the slopes were useable, however, if they don't get a good dump of snow soon there will be problems.
Queues on the lifts (especially 4 man) were getting execsive by the end of the week. The main green run was also getting extremely busy. They need to look at increasing the number of runs and lifts very quickly as the level of building that is taking place is phenominal.
Went to the Barbeque Resturant in the Mougavets on Wednesday Night (not sure about other nights) - try it as they have fire walkers - the kids lived it. Food was also very good.
Another tip - try the "yellow" coloured fried chicken cafe close to the "Brothers" resturant for Hot Chocolate and Brandy!! Hot Chocolate is 2 levs (compared to 5 - 7 levs everywhere else) and Hot Chocolate and Brandy is 4 Levs (compared to 8 or 9) everywhere else. But a word of warning don't use their porta-loo if you are squimish.
Only major complaint spent all week trying to spot PP (had a 50p bet I would see him first) - either he was hiding from us or we didn't go in any of the bars he goes in. - There is always next time.
Finally, I suppose the question is would we go back to Pamps - The answer is yes, but we will probably try somewhere differnt next year for a change as this was three years on the spin.
Likewise arrived back from Pamps sunday morning 18/02/07, having stayed in Finlandia Hotel.
First time skiing as well as first time in Bulgaria. How did it go? Lets start by saying it was the best family holiday we have ever had. Two adults and five children ranging in age from 18 to 10 years. Already on the ball for next years return trip.

Journey there was uneventful early start for Dublin airport but everything went to plan. A few panic attacks about luggage weight and if we had enough clothes. In the end we had too much (4 daughters) and all were under 20 KG limit.
Arrived Plovdiv airport a bit of a culture shock, not much in the line of shops or toilets. Make sure you go on the plane saves waiting at airport as there are only 2 toilets.
Finlandia Hotel as already stated a bit out of the way a taxi to Pamps costs between 16-21 levs. But with kids we found it spot on.The photos on the hotel web page are out of date it has been refurbished, hotel is very clean and staff are helpful and polite. Rooms in new end are superb.
Food is ok a bit repetitive chips were always a welcome sight. There was always plenty of fresh fruit available and the house chardony is particularly nice.
Taxi drivers vary in price let them know that you know where you are going and where possible offer them 20 levs to town. buses are available for slopes in morning be ready about 09:00.
Snow wasn't good but Bulgaria is cheap and cheerful, people are friendly drink is cheap. I would reccomend Italian restaurant in Pamporovo, food is great.
Yes as already stated class holiday and i will be returning next year same resort same hotel.
