I was there a few weeks ago.

As long as you're quite early for the bus you will be fine but there was a couple of times the bus was full and we ave to wait 5-10 minutes on another (not a long wait at all).

The food they serve in the hotel is ok, nothing special but it is good (the salads especially are nice and fresh).

Yes there is a shop in the hotel and it is just as cheap as the shop in town (the 24 hour avalanche).

The snow was fantastic. It snowed for the last 3 days of our trip and it looks like it's still going. There were a few icy patches on the steep bits of the blacks but you could ski round them.

Overall everything was great though!

And I now understand about the hot chocolate with brandy!!! It should be brandy with hot chocolate though!!!!! Booze

I had read some scary reports about the hotel but when we were there it was amazing. We had no problems. The food was ok, in my eyes they'd tried to go too British and would've been better putting on Bulgarian food (being in Bulgaria makes sense!) but food is a personal opinion. If the food isn't too your liking there are plenty of places to go - I would recommend the Barbeque place beside the Mourgavets hotel (opposite the White Hart), great food and good prices! If the food isn't too your liking there are plenty of places to go - I would recommend the Barbeque place beside the Mourgavets hotel (opposite the White Hart), great food and good prices! The buses weren't a problem, like Leckie said if one is full there will be another in 5-10 minutes. The hotel is the last stop so as long as you're there in plenty time then you'll be fine.
The shop's still there and seemed quite reasonable with enough to get you through the week if you forget if not the Alaska is open 24-7 in town.
Hope this helps!

Have a good trip!

Ah it's called Alaska not Avalanche. It made the same mistake the whole time I was out there as well. The woman had to keep correcting me.
