Got home from Pamps yesterday and I have to say I was pleasantly suprised by how great Bulgaria was.
Our journey there was fine, plane on time although a little old but was a smooth flight. Transfer took a while due to the amount of snow that fell that night - our coach driver spent around 45 mins putting chains on the coach, poor guy was soaked!
Hotel was great, we stayed at the Prespa - allocation on arrival. Lovely refurbished room, comfy bed, huge shower. Food in hotel was basic but ...

Hotel was great, we stayed at the Prespa - allocation on arrival. Lovely refurbished room, comfy bed, huge shower. Food in hotel was basic but we only ate there 4 nights. White Hart was great for food & beer and we also went on a Bulgarian night.
The snow fall was amazing, I believe around a metre fell in 24hours the night we arrived. This unfortunately meant we couldn't ski on Monday but nobody can control the weather!
I have to say our only disappointment was our ski instructor. His name was Milan and he seemed intent on just making our group ski in his tracks in a long line and didn't teach us anything! The level of fun depended on whether or not he was in a good mood (awful mood on last day....not good!!) and whether we had a camera man filming us. Our group was intermediate and a few were particularly keen to learn the basics of paralleling. Unfortuately the only thing he seemed to want to do was flirt, he even managed to leave the group at some point each day - usually half way down a red run!
But that really is the only thing we could possibly complain about. The holiday was great value for money, fantastic snow and we met some lovely people.

hi louiseThanks for the report, and glad you had a good time, sorry to hear about your instructor tho. It does seem the ski school can be a bit hit n miss, i have been pretty lucky tho. was intermediate too this year and managed to parallel ski, but still needs a bit of work!
Very interested to hear about the Prespa - we were staying at the Mourgavets but in fact preferred to the look of the Prespa! really liked that big roaring fire and the attentive bar service in the lobby
