Excellent Report.
I was very happy with the Samakov and the skiing in Boro. Sorry we didn't pick you out among the many hundreds staying in the hotel.
My son Jonny (12) had a great time and could tackle most of the blue & red runs in the resort by the end of the week. We skipped ski school as 12-14 in a class just seemed too many. I gave him one to one instruction but I have since learned that my techniques are 20 yrs out of date ( I still plant the pole to turn).

We drove home on Sunday afternoon listening to the sad story of Chelsea being beaten by Newcastle. At least we survived the week without any injuries!
Many thanks for a most comprehensive report on last weeks skiing. Maybe we'll bump into you next year.
thanks for the excellent report. I have a question - I didn't really understand what do you mean by (quote) "Agree the fare before you start off, usually 20 levs (£7), not too bad if 4 or 5 of you share." Do you have to pay extra each time you take a lift besides the ski pass that you buy?
Yep, thats right - usually 20 levs but if you dont ask first they try to get you to part with up to 35 levs - depending on how affluent/gullible they think you look!
I was referring to the horse & carts (easier with skis) but the taxis are the same price. We also paid 10 levs last year and was surprised to be quoted 20 levs first time we used it this year, especially as there was only two uf us at the time, but we were on the way down and exhausted after the first days ...

Hey Fred i remember you and your wife speaking to me going up in the gondola im sure it was you on the friday and i had the snowboard inside the gondola. Was it you?
Gary,
Yes it was!
I remember a brave, lone young boarder and I also remember thinking how I wished I was your age again!
Superb at the top most of that day, but foggy further down - great snow though.
Hope you got home to the UK safely - see you there next year?
Fred
