Hello,
Got back last night, and things aren't looking good. The very top two runs are holding out, but they are not putting the piste bashers on them, and they have turned into two giant mogul fields. the black run is being kept in perfect condition, but the others that are open are suffering, with rocks p[oking out every where(if you have your own board or skis, DO NOT USE THEM!!!) Witht the tempretatures still staying high, and cloud cover non existent, things are looking bad Im afraid. However had a great time drinking eating and lots of spa treatment in the Kempinski!!! If you get fed up of bulgaruan food they have a great Italian and an amazing Sushi restaraunt.
Hope the conditions improve, but I have to say thta out of of 15 years of skiing/boarding these were the worst conditions I have witnessed. Sorry for the negative report, but just be prepared!!
I hope so Mr Hornster, i have just looked at Metcheck and they are saying it is going to 16c in Bansko on the 20th that would be a summer's day in the uk
dont no where you got your info but the outlook is a temperature increase. conditions would improve if they turned on all the snow cannons at night when the temp falls and actually bashed the slopes properly, tried removing a few of the football sized rocks. the two slopes up the top would be great if they bashed them. i love coming up on the odd rock and tree stump or ummm the surprise of a boulder sticking out of the snow.
If any of you have an interest in weather watching will know how to interpret this weather model. It is run 4 times a day and is made up of 10 different possibilities. The closer all 10 runs are, the better the chances are of the snow arriving on those days. It also includes temperature ranges:

Basiclly, the series of lines at the bottom indicates precipitation (snow) and the series of lines at the top indicate temperature. There are also dates at the bottom to give you an idea as to what is likely to happen when.
If you can get your head around that then you will know what I'm talking about.
Also, look at this forecast for Bansko and pay particular attention to what is likely to happen from the 22nd January:
