Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Hi all, just thought i would write a wee report on my ski trip in borovets. We travelled in a group of 7 and stayed in the rila. we have been going here for the past 5 years and have never had any problems, however, be warned that the food in the rila is absolutely awful. Totally different to what it had been like in past years so be prepared to eat out at night if you enjoy meal times.

The best place we went to eat was a place called La Bomba Venice and it is situated just right outside the rila and a bit to the right. Beautiful food and very friendly staff, also it is reasonably priced so try here if you want good food.

The weather was gorgeous. It snowed the first couple of days but then the sun came out and it was just beautiful to ski in. The best runs to do are the ones at the top of the Gondola. Great conditions for all to ski on.

The slopes were well tended to and snow cats out all the time pisting the runs so couldnt complain at all about the conditions of the slopes. The best i have seen yet anyway.

Be wary of buying stuff from the 'Perfect shop' situated in the foyer of the Rila. The girls working there will try to rip you off and tried it several times to me. Its better to go on down to the bottom of the rila shopping centre to the rila supermarket located at the entrance at the bottom door of the hotel.

There is a new bank in the rila where money can be changed. Its 24 hour.

All in all we had a brilliant time here once again and im sure all of you heading out there soon will enjoy it. Cant wait until,next year!!
