Hi All,
Arrived back from Boro tonight. Just a quick update for you all, sometimes useful when your about to head out there!
We arrived there on Boxing Day, yep, just after a very warm week when the snow cover had suffered. The conditions were not as bad as some people had made out. No, to be honest it wasn't great but the cannons have created a good base on Yestrebets ( go early ish morning cos became a bit icy from midday) Unfortunately the weekend and new year were very busy with "foreigners !!! Ie Russians and mad locals who are like bullets, ( but are not always as in control as they would like to think). So the harder runs got a bit dodgy later in the day. ( remember some people buy a half day lift pass which starts at 12 noon. We tended to head up to the top station for 9am, have a few runs down to bottom of the Yestrebets 4 man and pretty much call it a day at lunchtime. We did night skiing a couple of times, conditions were good if you went out at 6 when it first opened, later on in the evening it become a bit icy/thin in places.
As for the nursery slopes they have plenty of coverage but again, can get really busy. Hopefully the forecast snow for this weekend might open up more slopes and therefore spread everyone out!. The nursery slope at the top of the gondola seemed good and was less busy.
As for après obviously we had a great week. Kas and Bobby at Bobbys Bar (and the rest of the great staff) are brilliant. The atmosphere, company and shots there are great if not lethal! We also like Mamacitas, Golden Horn and Frankos.
Think I've gone on a bit too much so Ill shut up.
Back out in 4 weeks, "Can't Wait" lol.
