Just got back from Bansko

Just got back from a generally good trip to Bansko skiing.
Stayed in the Hotel Elinor - about a mile from the Gondola - allocation on arrival, so wouldn't have been my first choice. Bed and breakfast - breakfast a bit late - 8am and also first shuttle bus not until 8.50am which was fine for most days other than Sunday and Monday - when you need to be at the ski depot first thing(8.30 ideally) to avoid the queues and make sure you are there for the absurdly early start of the first lesson of ...

Needless to say there were many latecomers myself included who didn't make it to the top of the mountain until 11am first day due to queues in the depot getting equipment, I only just got into a ski group by the skin of my teeth.
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - weather clear - but too hot for my liking.- sunbathing on the mountain!! Tell that ot the folks at home and they won't believe you. Other days not so clear and still warm - so snow sticky and hard on the legs.
Generally impressed with our instructor - although pushed us v.hard. Unfortunatley I strained a knee ligament the second day so didn't enjoy my skiing as much as I would have liked and had to take some rest afternoons.

simonthere is a lot of building work going on at the minute, but glad you enjoyed it. would you go back

Yes Sam I would because what really spoilt my holiday was pulling my knee ligament - if it hadn't been for that I wouldn't be half as critical.I think a good idea would be for the ski depot's to have somewhere you can measure your height and weight (ie a set of scales and a measure against the wall, - save a lot of guesswork if you don't know your stats in metric that can lead to injuries!!.
