Bulgarian money?

Question
HI there. Am off to Borovets next weekend with my wife for some first time sking in Borovets. I was wondering, whats the best way to get currency changed into Bulgarian?- the Post Office here in the UK doesn't supply Levs. Did anybody just bring sterling and change it over there?

re: Bulgarian money?

It's about 2.72 exchange rate over there with loads of places to exchange money. I'd recommend checking out places on the main street rather than your hotel. I think most people just brought loads of sterling and changed what they needed, which was much better than changing anything in the UK (see other posts). I just used a cashpoint which cost me £1.75 a time (I'm with HSBC) and the rate of exchange was about 2.74. There's a cashpoint by the Gondola station and another one somewhere in ...

It saves taking tons of money with you and if you decided to buy your own skis or something (prices are excellent out there) you'd not be limited buy your pre-determined budget. If you do take a wad of sterling, there's safety deposit boxes in the hotels (although I didn't actually use them).

re: Bulgarian money?

im also going to borovets this weekend. My dad booked the Levs for me at the post office yesterday in Northamptonshire.

If theres any problems though i think well have to change it over there. Sounds slightly more expensive but not really got a choice if the post office doesnt come through.
