Big SORRY to everyone who got caught up in the traffic jam that it caused and a very BIG BIG THANKS to all who stopped and offered to take dribs and drabs of us and our luggage to the airport
What a start! but we were all alright and safe.
We got to boro and was hoping for lots of snow because we had been reading this board and knew there wasnt alot there but supprisingly only 2 runs were closed and there seemed to be plenty of snow on the slopes esp the rila mountin.
Ski-ing was good all week but became abit slushy on Wed / Thur then icy Friday but was snowing up on the top of the mountain in the affternnon (very good snow up there ) but was still good sking for beginers / intermediates (in my opinion).
We stayed in the Iglika villas (13 & 14) they were extremley warm, clean and number 14 was very spacious and seemed to be the newest of all of them. We booked the villas because they looked great last yr all set out along a lovely paved path but this yr we were alittle dissapointed because they had been moved around to accomadate a new building project with a masive crane right next to them which we were not informed about which spoilt the senic view but we didnt hear a single bit of noise from any works. We booked SC but were upgraded to HB with out asking for it so I presume it was to compensate for the building works ?
We still ate out at the crown on the slopes who looked after all of us every day. We tried the food in the Alpin and Mama Mias which was good food and well priced.
Only thing that could have been better on the Hol would have been abit more snow but thats down to nature not the resort.
Anyone going in next few weeks and after some info please ask and we will try to answer for you if we can..... Seee Ya,
Boro hasnt changed and we will be back again next yr.
Went rom birmingham on 31st - with Firsta choice - Excellent flights etc.
Stayed in the Rila - Excellent location - really well organised for collecing all ski gear etc. Food was great - lots of variety, although not much selection for fussy kids, but there isn;t anywhere if they're fussy.
Snow conditions - At resort level - Snow is needed. The bashers are out every night, but in the main it is sluch and quite a bit of ice.

Hi
Just got back last night
Went rom birmingham on 31st - with Firsta choice - Excellent flights etc.
Stayed in the Rila - Excellent location - really well organised for collecing all ski gear etc. Food was great - lots of variety, although not much selection for fussy kids, but there isn;t anywhere if they're fussy.
Snow conditions - At resort level - Snow is needed. The bashers are out every night, but in the main it is sluch and quite a bit of ice.
At the top of the gondala - Conditions are excellent - powder all over on the top section.
Not advanced enough for red and blacks, but our mate who went with us enjoyed sking on these most of the holiday.
Only down fall was the Gondala was closed due to wind, but thats nature and not borovets fault.
Went last year in March and the conditions up top are loads better.
the long run down to the rila (Masala Pathway) is closed due to ice / mud on the lower ground, but all other runs are great.
Overall we had a great time, but it is in need of a dump.
Not sure if we would go again, but only because of the amount of runs at altitude not being as many as other resorts.
Its cheap and cheerful and we would recommend this to anyone.
Hope for those going out you get a dumping, but if you go up top - you will have some fantastic skiing / boarding.
