We got home about 3am on monday, after a cracking week in Boro.
Now before Mickey starts ranting on about me being biased
(which i am) this week we saw it from the 'Punters' perspective as we were part of a group out for race training and for the competition at the end of the week. We travelled Easyjet, bit of a big queue first thing but otherwise no hassles, landed at term 1, ok not the best but went without a hitch, we then were picked up and taken to the Flora Hotel/Apartments, which ...

We travelled Easyjet, bit of a big queue first thing but otherwise no hassles, landed at term 1, ok not the best but went without a hitch, we then were picked up and taken to the Flora Hotel/Apartments, which were booked through Borovets-PMS, lovely apartments clean and very roomy. Apart from the little chappy in the foyer telling us not to wear our boots in and out, ok so tell the cleaner to stop mopping the floor so you get wet socks!!! we had a good time and would recommend it. The snow conditions were very good up the gondola, we had a bit of low cloud to contend with, and usually swapped over to the Rila side after a late lunch to practice on the race slopes, these did get a bit slushy later on but were perfectly skiable. We has no problems with the restaurants, we took the kids ice skating in Samokov, and there were only three others on there 2 lev kids 3 lev adults, new boots great evening, we then ate in town cheap as chips!!! we did a traditional Bulgarian evening with singing dancing and the odd rakia, sledging onan other evening and then the races on FRiday and Saturday, we opted out of the sunday races as our kids are not prepard for GS, friday we had a 5th/6th and 11th (in the wrong age group should have been one lower) and on the saturday we had some good times, but the gate layout through our kids as there were two courses side by side. Trip back on the late Easyjet flight was good as we got in an extra days skiing. All in all a brilliant time and i guess id go again!

Sounds like you all had a great time!Out of interest Fraser, we're thinking of trying to get 3 days skiing in over Easter (9th April). What do you think?

It looks like skiing at Easter will be very good in Borovets, there is plenty of snow on the top and Yastrebets 2 and 3 with the snow cannons are fantastic and more snow to come this week.re: Just got back

we have just booked for over easter booked direct with hotel samakov at 50 euro per night per room and thats Half boardwith two sharing thats around £25.00 per night each.
you can still ge some good cheep flights through easy jet from gatwick or wizz air from luton. we have also booke a transfer from sofia to borovets at 35 euro each way.
a good deal i would say.
