hi everyone
so lookin forward to our trip in feb going 2 borovets went at xmas last year and hardly no snow.
so my fingers are crossed for it to still be there when we come.
has anyone stayed in the lion hotel does anyone know what it is like????
and is it all easy to get sorted with crystal the first morning and i have researved a place for my daughter at the kindergarden at the rila is that still good...
just want to be abit up dated b4 we go back but we all cannot wait.

hi therestayed at the lion last year with my girlfriend and its fantastic 15 min walk or 10lev taxi into gondola but the hotel runs a minibus every 5 mis in the day.
Hotel is brilliant nice and modern with great pool, good restaurants and nice bar with fires ......going back in feb as well

Stayed at the Lion last January. Very impressed with the hotel. Room very clean and warm. Lobby was very cosy and modern with loads of flat panel TVs everywhere. Meal times could be a bit of a bun fight but its all good fun. We just made sure we got in early every day. The bus ran during the day every 20mins or so and dropped off and picked up outside of the Samakov hotel. Stayed at the Lion last January. Very impressed with the hotel. Room very clean and warm. Lobby was very cosy and modern with loads of flat panel TVs everywhere. Meal times could be a bit of a bun fight but its all good fun. We just made sure we got in early every day. The bus ran during the day every 20mins or so and dropped off and picked up outside of the Samakov hotel. If it where a bit closer to the centre it would be perfect but I wouldnt hesitate in staying there again. We went with Crystal last Jan as well and they were ok. The initial meeting was in Francos bar and getting vouchers for hire equip and lift passes was all ok. Problems started when there was confusion over which ski depot we were using. That took a long time to sort out (wasnt Crystals fault) because BoroSport were inisiting that Crystal customers that were staying at the Lion had to go down to the ski depot at the gondola instead of the one opposite the Rila. This is despite the fact that Lion / Crystal customers had been using the Rila depot since the start of the season.
All in all despite a little niggle on the first morning it was a great holiday. We are off there again on Saturday
