I've just come back from boro and the snow is melting, crap skiing on slopes mainly ice and grass! Only one gondala which hardly ever works! Food is awful comes out cold everywhere we've eaten! Dont get run over by rude bulgarian drivers and horse riders, cant believe everyone rates the place!
I never have problems with all the bulgarians when you smile first and say Dober den to them first!
(ooogh I need to practise my bulgarian again !)
Sorry Kerry!
Never had these problems before.... food at the hotel is normally pretty crap so wheneva I go we tend to eat out most nights... as for the snow conditions, its a risk of going so early in the season!
I'm off to Borovets on the 21st, glad to see theres over 20cm's on the way this week
We've also just returned from Borovets over Christmas, which was also my first ever skiing holiday - loved it!!
Yes the snow was a little thin by the end of the week, but I guess that's the gamble you take going early season - want more snow, go elsewhere!
Food wasn't the best at at the hotel, but we never planned to eat there anyway, don't see the point in going somewhere and not venturing out and about!! Had some fantastic food and would highly recommend the Eagle Rock and the ...

Food wasn't the best at at the hotel, but we never planned to eat there anyway, don't see the point in going somewhere and not venturing out and about!! Had some fantastic food and would highly recommend the Eagle Rock and the Mexican place next door (can't remember the name). Found the Bulgarian's very friendly and the ski school was excellent.
Walls a little thin at the Rila, but I'd taken earplugs just in case! May try the Samakov next time, which means - yes I'll certainly be going back to Borovets as a ski convert- can't wait!!!
