KAT

Did you have a good week on the 21st? We did and booked again as soon as we got back. It was so much better than last year (stayed @ Bor out of resort) Booze

re: KAT

hi there! i had a pretty good week. me and my mates were giggling the whole week, but if i'm honest, i don't think i need to go to borovets again.

the reosrt itself is pretty cool, and the view from the top is ace, but its quite small and there weren't enough really tough runs to do. i spoke to an instructor in the gondola and he told me that even though they are marked as black, there aren't really any black runs in borovets, which seemed a fair comment.

we did as many had done, and went to katy's for steaks and they were well tasty. we went to the chinese restaurant, at the time we thought it was good, but in hindsight, it wasn't so great. (i think the kung-fu brandy clouded our judgment!).

i was quite surprised by the number of strip joints, which seem a little incongruous in a ski resort. they didn't bother me, although i thought it a bit much when the strippers were right in your face at the bottom of the gondola giving it the "hey baby!". and really, the pictures on the outsides of the bars are well misleading - none of the strippers i saw were that good looking!!

the iglika was nice and comfy and the food was pretty nice, we all made a point of just getting stuck in and trying everything and it paid off. it was really handy being so close to everything and the bar staff there were always in a good mood.

our group went to the buzz bar a few times and did some dancing and drinking at knock-down prices.

hmmm... next year, we'll be doing a family trip to andorra and then me and a girlie friend are going to girlie camp, hopefully in mayrhofen (if i get my own way!)

i can't speak for the rest of my group but for the absolute beginners and novices i think it was the perfect resort. there were enough runs of sufficient difficulty and one of them said she learnt more in 2 hours with her borovets instructor than she ever did in the hours of instrutcion she got at tamworth.
