We're in Borovets over Christmas and I was just wondering if most of the bars let children in? I've been before to Borovets but always in a large group so haven't had that problem before.
Anywhere in particular that won't mind if we go in the early evening with our 9 year old just for a couple of drinks?

re: Kids and bars
HI hazel, we have taken the kids to Boro the last two years and had no problems in any of the bars we went into -- even the hotel bars. ( kids were 7 &13). Infact it was quite relaxing just to sit while the kids went to the bar to buy the drinks !!!! Do it Man
Hazel, took my 2 boys last year (11 &15) and all bars etc made us very welcome and made a big fuss over the boys, even more so if they like football.
go for it!!!!!!!
We have found Bulgaria (Borovets) very family friendly and we have never had any diffuculty in having the kids with us in a bar / restaurant until the early hours.
All the above answers are completely correct. I have yet to know any bar in tourist Bulgaria that does not allow children in, and unfortunately many underaged children often get served alcohol without any questions being asked.
Provided the kids behave they will be welcomed wherever you go.
Hi Hazel, you can get your children in the bars, but it's a very bad idea. The local Bulgarian culture is very poor, please remember it. And beware your children from getting too drunk.
