The childrens lessons are my priority as they've never skied before.

Has anyone got any advice, please Confused

re: Kids ski lessons

Hi, I had the same problem last year but in Bansko. i found the best thing is to book an instructor for your own group instead of joing a group with others, so in our case we booked a guy for 2 hours a day in the afternoons half term week, giving us total flexibility.

If the kids are young i.e. about 5, they may not be up for skiing more than 23 hours a day anyway as they don't have the stamina

Thanks Colin

An update on my 1st post..

The kids are girls aged 12 and 9. I think they would prob prefer to ski with a group so they can make friends.

re: Kids ski lessons

Hi, we went to bansko (none of us had skied before) in february and went into beginers lessons with the kids aged 8 and 12, but my 16 year old didnt come with us because of exams. we are going again for xmas so I took her down to Tamworth for a learn to ski in a day course (£75 including meals, fantastic value) and she is pretty much up to the same standard as us. It took us two days just to learn a snowplough turn whereas she was doing that within an hour at tamworth. My advice (if you live ...

My advice (if you live near a snowdome, I did drive two hours to tamworth) is to have lessons before you go so that they can master what they have learnt when they get there - kids do pick it up sooo much faster than us oldies. Thats just my opinion and im sure other people may beg to differ but i really wish we had done it :-)

re: Kids ski lessons

Funny enough i was at the snow dome with the kids at the weeknd, they had a great time..

I think Hilly is looking to put them in kids ski school for the fun of it,they have a great time and meet loads of new friends also as a parent it gives you a little space to enjoy yr holiday and not worry about knocking over your own child Razz..

Thanks Karen and Tiger

Only live about 45mins from Tamworth snowdome so did plan on gettin the kids lessons before we go, thought we might try the dry slope near where we live 1st.
I'm just frightened to death they may not like it, then not want to go away !

Albena ski school has also been mention to me.
There are so many ski schools now which one do i choose?

re: Kids ski lessons

There are loads of schools out there, much better to have it pre booked rather than waste half a day looking for a school once you land..

If the kids haven't skied before take them to the snow dome first,it's really exciting for them and it doesn't hurt so much when they fall over, well worth paying the extra..
