Kids

Hi All,

I'm looking at taking my 9 year old son for his first ski ho in March (8th). Am trying to find a resort that will have off-piste activities to keep him entertained in the evenings.. We've never been to Bulgaria, but the snow looks good, so was wondering if anyone could advise if there is enough there to keep him occupied.. and me sane Wink

Hiya been to pamps 3 times and am going back for my 4th visit on Saturday with my son who is now 7. He has never been bored as there is loads to do. Apart from playing in the snow .....during the day on the slopes there are husky rides and a hill which can be sledded down, there are doughnuts to come down the hill on or do what I did and buy him a bumboard hours of fun for hardly any money. Apart from playing in the snow .....during the day on the slopes there are husky rides and a hill which can be sledded down, there are doughnuts to come down the hill on or do what I did and buy him a bumboard hours of fun for hardly any money. In resort in the evenings there is also lots to do. Most hotels have a swimming pool. there is a bowling alley, games rooms in some hotels, pool tables. You can also go on a bumborading trip with the rep where you come down a huge hill and is great fun also you can go on a skidoo ride which you can also arrange through your rep. I have found the best place for the evenings is BJ's bar in the Perelik hotel in the centre of the resort as they have a pool hall, bowling alley and a games room upstairs to keep the kids amused whilst adults chill. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions.

re: Kids

Hi Dona,
Thanks for your update. Are the ski schools there good? We'll be giving him a few lessons before we go so he'll have a 'rough' idea before we go. Also, looking at the piste maps, there seems to be an abundance of reds and blacks, but not many blues? Whilst that is great for us to have a ski while he's at ski school, it does worry me that we'll be restricted as to where we can take him later in the week as he improves and gets bolder.

Ski school is excellent but if you want to give him a head start I can personally recommend 1-1 for a day or 2. He will learn tons more and its quite cheap. The rates for this year are 45 levs for 2hrs or 80 levs for the day which is about £30. My son had 1-1 for the 1st two holidays and was skiing black runs last year at 6. Your son with 1-1 will probably be on the green by the 2nd day and the blues very soon after. The green is a really long run from the top to the bottom and you can do ...

The green is a really long run from the top to the bottom and you can do bits of easy blues on the way down. You will definitely all get to ski together and enjoy your hol.
