Kindergarden (inside Hotel Rila & Kindergarden Ski School!
Reading various messages, there seems to be some confusion between the Kindergarden (4-7yrs) within Hotel Rila and Kingergarden Ski School. Some reports say you have to ski if your under 8 within the Rila Hotel Kindergarden (where you ski for 1hr in the mornings & 1hr in the afternoon) and in the meantime, its play time inside/outside depending on weather. However, if your 8 or over you can go the Kindergarden Ski School (similar to the adults (2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in the ...

Can our 7 yr old ski with our 8 yr old without going through the Rila Kindergarden route? Please clarify, much appreciated.

don't know about your hotel but when we were out there a couple of weks ago there were 5 kids in our group and 3 were under 8 one was only 5 so they may be able to join your classes the people who had the 5 year old had to pay locally as the travel company wont let them do it at home, the rep said if they held the group back they may have to join the kindergarden but to be honest they picked it up better than the adults as they have no fear. if you would rather they skied with you talk to ...

Hi Sam, thanks for info. Looks like we will pay locally for our 7 yr old to ski with his brother. They want to be together, however, not too keen on being with us!!!! Our travel company won't let us do it at home, saying he has to go through the kindergarden route. It seems like the instructors are laid back about these things!

to be honest our instructed seemed to enjoy having the kids in the group and by the end of the week they were going down the green blue and some of the red slop a quiet a speed. typical they dont want to ski with you. the day we picked up our skis was pretty hectiec if you have a meeting place try and get there early and if there is a bus transfer get on the first 1 and sit at the front, as this will stop the kids getting bored we were at the back of a que of 270 not the best situation when ...

To be honest I think you will find it is your holiday company's policy and not the ski school. Those 7 and under don't need (or never used to need) a lift pass which is possibly where the confusion is arising. Two years ago a 6 year old cam into our group having paid to go into kindergarten - staight transfer over and no more money changed hands.

Thanks for all the info. As Ellie states, going through kindergarten, you probably only need to use the pull-up, drag lifts, whatever you call them on the nursery slopes (due to 1 hrs at a time lessons) and therefore do not need a lift pass, this makes sense now! Feel much happier now. Regards. Yvette

The kindergarten's don't usually use the draglifts at all but just the lower slopes. You can always take them on the slopes yourselves once the lessons have finished.
