Knee support.

I injured my knee last year, fell on it at a funny angle. I did at one point think I would need an oporation. Thankfully I didn't. Now and again it aches. I'm going at the end of Jan to Pamps for just over a week skiing. I am worried that my knee will start to be painful again when I ski. Appart from not skiing again which is not an option, would people recomend wearing a knee support? I don't want to spend a small fortune on one but can anyone recomend a good one.
Thanks

re: Knee support.

Hi Suzanne I done the same thing a few years back and mine still throbs from time to time, my own fault really because I never followed up my physiotherapy and done the exercises I was given.

But every time I have been skiing it has been ok. I would suggest you go and get some physio as you have plenty of time before you go to make a big improvement.

re: Knee support.

Thanks for the advise. I did have Physio for three or four months after. I can still remember the follow up excercises so I think I may start doing them again.

re: Knee support.

I've used a Vulcan knee support the one with the hole in for the knee cap..

They cost about £20 i got it for rugby but it doubled up for skiing with no problems..

Why don't you go to the snow dome and try it out see how you feel..

re: Knee support.

I need a knee support and use a vulkan as i have found it to be very good. What works for me is a wrap around with bracing in the sides. I use a wrap around as it is easy to remove at the end of the day without having to take my boots etc off because it can be removed without having to completely take off my ski gear and can easily be achieved in the toilets if we are staying for apres ski in the bars. By not keeping it on at this point helps the knee readjust. hope this helps but there are ...

re: Knee support.

Get one anyway, if you find you dont need one fine, but to get out there without one and find you do.......
It will just make you feel so much more confident.
Go down to Boots, get the wrap around type as they are much better to adjust
