looking at the cam views of Pamps you really do have to worry about its future given the lack of snow the last 3 years. I know Feb and March has still to come but it seems most of January has been lost and it makes you wonder will the tour operators pull the plug on Pamps as a ski resort. Last couple of years I hoped it was just a blip but three years on the trot is a worrying trend.

The webcams in Borovets doesnt paint a pretty picture.....there seems to be a lot of brown & green rather than the predominant white it should be!!!re: Lack of snow

I think many would agree that to go to any of the resorts in bulgaria before mid Jan carries an element of risk, it needs the weather to stay cold after the late autumn first dumps of snow. Sadly this year there appeared to be some good early snow but the unusually warm weather has destroyed the base that was there.
I dont think the tour operators would pull out of the resorts, what they may consider is shortening the season by not offering bookings until the second week in Jan ...

However the Christmas and New Year weeks are some of the busiest and they would probably keep coming so long as people keep booking, many people are willing to take the risk.
The most important thing is that people coming early need to be aware of the risk of poor snow, much the same as in many of the european resorts.

not yet will know monday don they wont change flight as its a bulgarian airways flight and not a thomas cook flight but starting to get somewhere they are looking at moving us to bansko seems better chance of skiing and snow reports look better don

Once one of your party gets swine flu you are not allowed to travel and will need to claim on your insurance – Does anyone in your party have swine flu??K

good luck, may bump into you on the slopes, I think the forecast for borovets is getting much colder with some snow, and the cannons should be able to run once its colder, so if they wont budge theres some hope for the snow. 6 days to go!
