Last week.....

Last week.....

My wife did her first black (I'll have to take her word for that).
9 of our group were on Blades, including me. Great fun, loved them. Don't know where the stories come from about them being slow or no good off piste.
First time to Norway (and probably the last time). Cost a fortune and nowhere near as good as any of the main European ski resorts or Bulgaria. Mega cold.
BA lost 4 pairs of skis (blades) on the outbound flight, but delivered them to resort the following night.

Troll,
I'm comparing to Borovets, where there's good night life and things happening in the resort.
At Trysil very little happening at night and relatively boring scenery up the mountain. Not a patch on the Rila mountains, and certainly nowhere near the splendour of the Alps.

Well you can mean whatever you want. I know of many party places in Trysil, and the afterski is far better then anyone I have been to in bulgaria. But if you think it was to expensive, then maybe it wasnt for you anyway. Booze

re: Last week.....

We stayed at Fagerasen but skiid from the lift near the Radisson.
My friend, who was with us, had stayed at the Radisson last year and hence knew of a couple of lively bars, but I was disappointed at the scale of it.
At Fagerasen there was nothing happening after around 7pm.
We weren't on a budget, and never are, but some of the prices were pretty steep. £160 for four of us (my family) in the Pizza Restaurant next to the Radisson on the same night as spending £75 for Burger & chips & ...

In all we were part of a group of 11 (4 adults and 7 teenagers) and on that one night we spent £450 as a group for a Pizza eating experience significantly short of what we would expect at Pizza Express or Pizza Hut for a third of the price.
We had been advised that it would be expensive but actually came back home with some cash left as there was not enough happening to tempt us to stay out every night.
I never saw any afterski that would compete with Borovets, but if you're sure about this perhaps I'll go back again next year to check.
If there is a next time, we'll look to stay at the Radisson, as I think Fagerasen was a mistake.
Still some of the Beer was pretty good and Jagermeister was in good supply, and the Supermarket had Pear Cider (my most favourite drink).
Booze
