Lift passes in Borovets

Hi, we are heading to Boro Xmas Eve (4th Visit) and we have always pre-booked 6 day lift passes with our tour operator which is £119 per person. Due to snowfall being hit and miss at Xmas I just wondered if anyone could let me know:

How much would it cost to buy a 1 day local area lift pass in resort? And were would you purchase this from?

How much would it cost to buy a 1 day Gondola lift pass in resort?

Thanks Kim

re: Lift passes in Borovets

i Kim,

The lift passes are about 55 Leva per day for the whole area including the gondola. Yo can get a half-day lift pass from about 12:00 onwards (this is only approximate but they have a specific time to start sellling them). You can buy lift passes at the bottom of most of the slopes, you have probably seen the little wooden cabins.

Hope this helps

Lift passes in Borovets

Hi Kim,

Great to see you are coming back!

There are actually 5 places you can buy passes:

Gondola station
Sitnyakovo 4 man chair
Rila 4 man chair
Yastrebets 4 man
Rila hotel - there is an office inside the main hotel / on the reception desk where you can buy passes

The half day passes are from 12.00noon exactly - at a weekend you may need to queue as many of the locals (from Sofia) just ski for the afternoon and get to the Gondola / Yastrebets around 11.30 to wait to buy ...

There are also 2 different resort passes you can buy - one for the whole resort or one which is just for the Yastrebets runs - the 4 man chair which covers Yastrebets 1,2 and 3. This may be a better option if the snow is poor as the cannons on here made for great skiing last season regardless but again, at the weekend this is quite busy as many locals just buy this pass.

Email me if you need any more info!

re: Lift passes in Borovets

Hi,

We are coming in at the start of February for our first visit to Bulgaria, we're going to the Borovets resort. What is the most cost effective way of buying our lift passes? Do you know what the price would be for 6 day passes for 2 adults and a child if we were to order them before we fly? and what is the best place to do this?

Also, how is the snow usually at the start of February in Borovets? I've seen mixed reports in various places and am now starting to worry!

Thanks ...

re: Lift passes in Borovets

Hi Dan,

The cheapest places for passes is normally via your operator - or are you doing it DIY? They haven't released the prices yet for this year, but they are supposed to be about the same as last year.

Last Feb was good for the first few days, then poor and then good again for half-term. The last couple of seasons in general haven't been great but then neither have the summers...this year we had a fantastic summer, so hopefully the same will go for the winter!

Send me an email ...

Hi Kas

Thanks for the reply. We've gone DIY, staying at a lodge about 10 mins from Borovets resort.

re: Lift passes in Borovets

Hi,

How much are the half day passes? Half price?

It's only our second time skiing and we have some first timers in our group as well. Will we need lift passes to access the beginners slopes?

Thanks for your help!

re: Lift passes in Borovets

Hi Terry,

Yep - half day passes are approx half-price eg: full day 55, half day 28 - saying that they haven't released this season's prices yet, although they have said they are not planning to increase them but until they come out, who knows!!

In terms of the beginner slopes at the bottom, if they are not using the lifts they won't use passes but normally by day 2 beginners are on lifts. Also t he lift pass covers mountain rescue so if they fall on the slopes mountain rescue will ...
