Hi all wonder if you can help my brother is coming with us this year and has a two year old how do they accsess the kindergarten and can he ski with them many thanks
Book ski kindergarten with the tour operator - if you are travelling independently, there's a good kindergarten at the Samokov - not sure how much skiing a 2 year old can do - more snow play than serious skiing
We are going to Borovets with our children (ages 8 & 3), our 8 year old is booked in for ski classes but the 3 year old is too young (need to be aged 4 I think for insurance purposes). The kindergarten is in the hotel Rila although I don't know too much about it as our intention is for one of us to ski with our eldest while the other does some sledging and stuff and then swap over. Where are you staying?
We are going to Borovets with our children (ages 8 & 3), our 8 year old is booked in for ski classes but the 3 year old is too young (need to be aged 4 I think for insurance purposes). The kindergarten is in the hotel Rila although I don't know too much about it as our intention is for one of us to ski with our eldest while the other does some sledging and stuff and then swap over. I have read reports that the facilities in the kindergarten are limited but how true this is I don't know (could just have been someone having a moan). Anyway hope this helps.
Generally the kindergarten is booked and paid for in resort ona first come, first served basis. Never heard that anyone hasn't got in.
See below a precis of a report from Fraser re: the Samokov kindergarten this December his children are both pre school as far as I remember the youngest being a toddler:

"We, with some trepidation after last years child induced riot, persuaded our kids, to go in to the kindergarten at the Samakov Hotel...Much better, its been extended, repainted, new toys altogether looks a brighter place, the NEW kids instructor is a smiley cheery english speaker, and the kids loved playing out in the snow, so can recommend that. cost us 180 lev for three days for two of them. "
Hope this helps - seems very positive to me. I'd maybe look at both when you arrive and go with the one you think would best suit YOUR child.
We are staying at the Rila from 14/01. Would you recommend the creche there. We have a 5 & 3 year old but Crystal advised that we book in resort but I want both of them to be together. What sort of activities can they take part in? Will my 5 year old be able to ski as Crystal told me they had to be 8???
Rebecca - then this info won't help much as it's all about Borovets!!
Emma - the kindergartens usually ski in the mornings and some afternoons. If the children aren't skiing then they will be out in the snow building snowmen, bumboard and having loads of fun!
