Local Holidays

Hi Guys

I am coming back to Bulgaria this year for some boardung and am going to try out Bansko this year.

I was just wondering what weeks to avoid in terms of local School and public hols. I know when our half term in the uk is but not so sure for Bulgaria and its neighbours!

like to have as much of the piste to myself as possible!!

thanks in advance

re: Local Holidays

Best to avoid the first two weeks in Jan as there are local holidays, not sure if the Bulgarians and other East Europeans have a half term as we do.

March 3 is actually a national holiday in BLG. I've booked starting then and I was warned. :-) But I think it's only a long weekend.

Hi Elena, yes it was a long weekend from memory. Slopes were packed, cash machines empty - thank goodness for being able to charge drinks in our hotel to the room for one night!!

re: Local Holidays

Went to Bansko last year 29th Jan to 5th Feb in the middle of the serbian school holidays. The queues were similar to the queues during our half term.
Steve/Wendy any knowledge of when they are this year?? Thinking of coming again same week (and March with teh kids Very Happy)
