Local lingo

Hey I've been meaning to ask this for ages but keep getting sidetracked by all the other threads.
Can anyone give me some v v quick boil in a bag type Bulgarian lessons so that I don't look like a total barbarian when I arrive in Boro on 3rd Jan. All I really need to know is
" more beer please", "look out I can't stop!!" "help" "my friend appears to have fallen over a precipice" and "which way is casualty?"
Anything else that might be applicable would be appeciated too Very Happy

re: Local lingo

Why not go to Ask Jeeves, and type in 'learn to speak Bulgarian.' You will be shown loads of sites that will give you the basic words you will need.

Hi Topper

I went to our local library and got a Teach Yourself Bulgarian course consisting of a book and tape. We picked up the basics, my daughter picked it up even quicker.

re: Local lingo

Yeah that was my first thought Mandie but then it occurred to me that as I was stuck on an oil rig off west africa until new years then this is probably not the best option for me. I'll certainly bear it in mind for next time!

cheers tho and cheers too sune

Topper,
If you're off Nigeria, next time one of the Maersk service vessels approaches, put a couple of warning shots across his bows. It will probably be a mate of mine, and he is always complaining how boring it is down there Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
It should give him something to email me about !
